Mozzarella Meatballs

Our newest members of the family are settling in nicely and they seem to have healed the hole in Teen Two's broken heart.
The one on the right is identical to our gerbil who died in the summer, so its rather like having him back.
It's not often all three are out at the same time...but the little spoonful of fresh melon seeds I dropped in,  was obviously too good to miss!
These two are real drinking buddies...more often than not sharing the water bottle!
I had to pop into town this morning and was rather taken with this giant pumpkin!
M&S had a lovely window display seasonal...and not a skeleton or witches hat in sight :)
For dinner tonight, I was inspired by a friends post on FB this week...mozzarella melt meatballs.
I based it roughly on this BBC recipe but did my own sauce and didn't bother soaking the breadcrumbs in wine.
Everyone thought they were great, they were certainly very filling!
Our Bible story at Friday Club today was the manna sent by God for the Children of Israel.
To reinforce the story, our activity was making little round sweet pastry balls, to represent the manna which was small round and sweet.
The children really enjoyed rolling out the little balls and playing with the flour, one or two sprinkled it liberally on top.
They certainly smelt delicious when I took them out of the oven.

  1. I put a little piece of dairylea triangle in a meatball - not as posh as mozzarella but it works!
